My name is Joyce Hawkins and I am the founder of Preferred Contractors Network (PCN). PCN became a Corporation in the State of Minnesota in 2005, after friends, family, neighbors and co-workers all shared my frustration of finding reputable contractors/service providers.

Using the Yellow Pages evoked strong negative responses: they get thrown away; they're too big and often confusing; how do you know which one to keep; they don't tell you who you can trust; etc., etc., etc.

The idea of providing homeowners a FREE, VALUED and TRUSTED resource for finding qualified contractors in their area was born.

The homeowners we surveyed wanted a hard copy directory, something that is easy to use and convenient to keep in a drawer near the phone for those inevitable home emergencies or upcoming home improvement projects.

Our mission at PCN is to provide homeowners a valued and trusted resource for finding qualified contractors in their area.

Our company is based on integrity, honesty, and ethical work practices. We expect no less from the contractors who advertise with us.

We have checked licenses with the Dept. of Labor and Industry, and company history with the Better Business Bureau. Many of the contractors belong to professional organizations and have been certified within their industry. They have an earned reputation within their community based on their years of experience.

Currently we have published directories for the Northwest and Southwest areas of the Twin Cities. This website was created for those who prefer to get their information online. It also allows us to create a link to the contractors website which gives you more information.
